Wednesday of Miracles

Hola!!!
This week was filled with miracles!!  Divisions started this week!!  We will be having divisions every Tuesday and Wednesday from now until the transfer ends due to Hermana Edwards being the sister training leader for our zone!!  She is super great!!

So this week I was with a sister named Hermana Tidwell!!  She was super great!!  It was fun to spend about 24 hours with her!!  And then Wednesday!!  Wow!!  Words cannot describe Wednesday!!  Wednesday Hermana Edwards and I didn’t have a ton of time to work because we had to end divisions so we started really working around 4:00 pm.  In the morning before we had lunch Hermana Tidwell and I contacted a referral we had received and at lunch the great grandson of the sister we had lunch with told us that he wanted to be baptized so we are going to start teaching him!!!  We are super excited!!  At this point in the day, on Wednesday I thought "Wow, how much better can today get?"  Well it did!!   It was a day of miracles!!  So like I said Hermana Edwards and I started to really work at about 4:00.  We found 8 new investigators this day!!  In one day we found 8 new investigators!!  It was a miracle!!
And we ended up contacting a house that was written in our area book!!  We went to this house and we weren’t able to teach them because the kids were doing homework but, it was a FAMILY!!!!  And not just a family, but a family who the parents are MARRIED!!!  We talked to the dad and he seemed super receptive and willing to talk to us!!  We are really praying for them that we can teach them this week and that they will be able to come to General Conference with us this weekend!!

Hermana Edwards and I are so excited for General Conference!!  I am so excited listen to our Prophet and his counselors and the apostles!!  I can’t wait!!  I can’t wait to experience general conference in the field!!   I experienced it in the MTC but I am sure that it will just be even better in the field with an investigator sitting with me this time!!  Have I mentioned that I can’t wait?!
I know that Pres Monson is the prophet of today called by our Heavenly Father.  I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live and love us!!  I now that this church is true and that the Book of Mormon is true!!  I LOVE the Book of Mormon!!

Love and miss you all lots and lots and lots and lots!!!

Winter is Coming...

Hola!!!

Well this week was filled with few things!!  We found a great mom and her 4 kids!!  Her name is Jessica!!  She and her husband are separated.  I am so excited to start teaching them!!  She will be so great!!  Also we had a special training this week that was super good!!  We talked about a lot of things!!  The things that hit me the most was family history and baptism.  Family history!  We talked about this Spirit of Elijah and how people love learning and talking about their families.  My goal is to start more conversations based off of the family and establish that common ground that we have with everyone. We also talked about baptism and how that needs to always be our goal.  If it is always our goal and we are always thinking about it, we can accomplish it.  With these two things now as my goals I am excited to see miracles.

We also had Stake Conference yesterday.  Our stake president talked about the Book of Mormon and how key it is and how we should always be reading it.  My goal now from this is to teach more principles of the gospel directly from the Book of Mormon.  I am so excited to see the miracles that are in store for Hermana Edwards and I this transfer and for this area.

Oh my gosh!!!!!  The last couple days I have been in tights and sweater jacket thing!!!!  It has been cold.  Well ok probably not cold but I have also had two summers back-to-back now so to me it is cold!!!!!  I will be buying my winter boots, hat, scarf and gloves next week.  I love my under armor!  They have been my pajamas for the last couple of nights!!!  HOOORRRAAAYYYYY!!!!  I can’t believe I have made it through my first summer!!  I all but died but I made it!!!!!  Somehow I made it and survived the heat!!!!!

I know that this church is true.  I know that our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ live and love us more than we can imagine and that through them we can overcome every hardship that occurs in our lives!!  I know that the Book of Mormon is true and was translated by the prophet of this dispensation Joseph Smith.  I know that Pres. Thomas S. Monson is our prophet today and how blessed we are to be able hear from him in two weeks!!  I can’t wait!!  Love and miss you all lots and lots and lots and lots!!

Con mucho amor,

Transfers! First Baptism!!!

Wow this week was filled!!!  First we had transfers on Wednesday!!  My new companion is Hermana Edwards!!  She is from the Kaysville 14th ward!!  But do you remember the lady that sent me a Facebook message and said that her daughter was serving in my same mission.  That was her mom.  Crazy right!!!!!!!  She has 13 months in her mission!!  We were actually in the same zone when I was in Caseros so we knew each other before we were companions!!  I am so excited to work with her!!  She is so great!!  She is so nice!!  I LOVE that she is obedient, she is willing to work, she is our sister training leader so obviously the Lord has lots of confidence in her, so much more!!!   She is so great!!  I am so excited to work with her and to start this new transfer.  We are going to see miracles together.  I just know it!!!!  This companionship is going to be so great!!!!!  I am so excited to be companions with her.

Also little Maria was baptized on Saturday!!  It was crazy!!  We started like 40 or 45 min late because her uncle who baptized her was running late and kids were running all over the church but I felt the spirit so strong!!!  I am happy for her!!
This transfer already has started off so great!!  I am excited to my companion and we had a baptism the first week!!  It can only get better from here!  I am so excited for this transfer and to see what miracles are in store for us!!

I know that this church is true without doubt!!  I LOVE the Book of Mormon and know that it is true!!  I know that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live and love us more than we can imagine!! Love and miss everyone lots and lots and lots!!!

I LOVE the Book of Mormon!!!

  Hola Familia y Amigos!!!!!

Wow this week was filled with things!! We had a zone meeting that was super great!!  We learned a lot about making our planning sessions productive and meaningful and being obedient.  Tuesday was Hermana Olson’s final interview it went super great for her.  The rest of the week was filled with getting her ready to leave to go home and sharing the gospel.

However this week something personal super great happened.  I made it a goal when I started my mission to read the Book of Mormon three times.  Once every 6 months.  That was my goal.  And guess what????   This week I finished the Book of Mormon before my actual 6 month mark!!!!  I am so happy and proud that I completed this goal.  I LOVE the Book of Mormon!!  I KNOW that is true without a shadow of a doubt.  I LOVE the Book of Mormon.  I LOVE the Book of Mormon and I LOVE the Book of Mormon!!  It has such power behind every story.  I am grateful for this book in my life and for this gospel.  So now my goal is two read it two more times.  But not only just two more times.  Two more times in Spanish.  There is a promise from one of the church leaders (I can’t remember who) that if you read the Book of Mormon in another language you will know the language by the time you are done.  Well I am testing that challenge.  So Thursday I started reading the Book of Mormon out loud in Spanish.

Hermana Olson left Castelar and so I needed a companion and so guess where I am at... wait for it...wait for it...wait for it... I'M IN CASEROS!!!!!!!!  That’s right.  I am in Caseros until Wednesday and then I will go back to Casterlar!!!  Hermana Zamora goes home this week as well and so both Hermana Ellis and I needed a companion until transfers this week.  Tomorrow is Hermano Llerna’s birthday, so we Hermana Ellis and I are going to their house tomorrow night for cake!!!

Well, I know that this gospel is true.  I know that the Book of Mormon is true.  I know that our savior Jesus Christ and Heveanly Father live and love us very much!!  I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and opened this dispensation.  I know that he saw Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father.  I know that Thomas S. Monson is our prophet today.  And I can’t wait three weeks to hear from him and our apostles of today.  Les amo mucho!!!!!

Con mucho amor,

La Obra Missional (Missionary Work)

Wow another week has gone by and I have reached 5 months!!! It is crazy how fast time flies!!  I cannot believe I am already almost a third of the way through my mission.  Honestly, I don’t know how it happened because yesterday we were crying on the Provo Temple grounds.

This week was another week filled with la obra missional (missionary work)!!  But we had two great things happen.  We visited some little girls who are recent converts.  They have a sister who just turned 8 a week and a half ago and..... you guessed it...SHE WANTS TO BE BAPTIZED!!  So I think she is going to be baptized this Saturday!!  We haven’t had a ton of contact with her but she has heard the lessons before and has been going to church with her sisters and they have been teaching her things as well.  So she is our priority this week.  I am praying for her.

Also we had another capilla abierta (chapel open house) that Hermana Olson and I got to help with.  I LOVE capilla abiertas!!  They are such a great tool for la obra misional. I love that I, as a sister missionary, got to start off the tour and bear my testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ countless times!!  Hermana Olson shared a story with me how they did a capilla abierta in her ward and they had a member bring her husband who was not a member at the time and after the capilla abierta and being in the church already, he was baptized!!  Such great experiences happen.

We have so many great tools to use to help the work of the Lord!!  This week also I decided that I was really struggling with the language and so Hermana Olson is going to help me a lot this week!!  I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to learn another language!!  I have definitely had to rely on Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.  I know that they live and love us more than we can comprehend.  I know the book of Mormon is the true word of God and I LOVE it!!  I know it was translated through the Prophet Joseph Smith, who I know saw our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.  I know that this gospel is true!!  I love and miss you all lots and lots and lots!!!

Con mucho amor,
