Story Time!!!!!!

"Well Hermana Anguita thank you ..ring ring ring...  who is calling us Hermana Edwards?
"The offices"
"Hmmm thats weird what do they want?"
"Hermana its for you?"
"Hmm ok thank you!  Hola!!
"Hola Hermana Kent!  Its Elder Moore from the offices.  I am calling to tell you that you and Hermana Edwards have changes tomorrow and you will be leaving your area!!!"
End of story

Needless to say I cried A LOT Tuesday as we were finishing up lunch.  But anyway!!  I am now in the area of Hurlingham.  I am back in the zone of Caserso really close to my first area!!   This week was crazy.  Tuesday after lunch I spent packing and then we had our English class.

My new companion is Hermana Hale and she is super great and happy all of the time!!!  She is from Tennessee!!  And she will be going home at the end of this transfer!!  Jajajaja shocking no??!!  Hahaha well I don't know all of our investigators yet but the few that I know are super great!!

We baptized a little boy Saturday night named Laurtaro.  He is 8 years old.  He is so great he was so prepared!!  His grandma is a memeber of our ward but his parents are not members so we got to teach and baptize him!!  He is so great and smart.

I am excited for this new area!!   I am really sad not to be in Ituzaingo 4 but I know it is for a reason.  I know that this church is true and that our Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ live and love us indivdually way more than we can imagine.   Love and miss you all lot and lots and lots!!!!

Staying Together

Hola!

Well this week was much, much better than last week!!  We saw miracles this week!!  Last night we had our first lesson with Walter!!!  We found him about a month ago and have tried and tried and tried to get an appointment with him and finally last night it happened!!  He is so prepared!!   He is so definitely going to get baptized this next transfer!!   Well I am praying he will!!!  He is so great!!  He is a miracle!!!  He has a family but he is the only one interested right this minute.  He has two daughters and a son!!  The spirit was so strong last night as we taught him about faith and repentance!!  Every question we asked him he answered exactly as we believe.  I am so excited to watch this miracle unfold!!  Other than that this week has been just working and trying to find people to teach.

Hermana Edwards’ lice are gone!!!  Hooorrrraaaayyyyy!!!  We were really praying for her!!  And I luckily never got it!!!  I am so grateful!!!  This week is transfers!!  We got a call this morning from our zone leaders!!  Hermana Edwards and I are going to be working together again this transfer.  I am so excited!!  She will now be my companion that I have had the longest!!  OH you should have seen us this morning FREAKING out as we were waiting for them to start to tell us and then after we got the news!!!!  We are so excited!!!!!

She is so great!!  I know that this church is true and that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live and love us very much way more than we can imagine!!!  Love and miss you all lots and lots and lots and lots!!!!!

All Things BUGS!!!

Hola!
This week was rough to sum it up.  Being separated from Hermana Edwards was super hard.  Even though I still had a companion it was hard not to be with my companion.  It was a neat experience training though.  I LOVE the twelve week program that we go through when we first enter the mission field.  There are so many great things to learn of how to teach with the spirit and learning to become the missionary that the Lord wants us to become.  Hermana Wilcox and Hermana Mattinson are going to be great missionaries and I am so grateful for the experience I had of helping them during their training.

Ok so the long part of the week…  Well, Saturday we took care of lots of bugs.  I mean lots of bugs.  I mean bugs in every place you can imagine.  Like bugs in hair as well.  Well ok I need to back up.   So we have had cockroaches in our apartment sometimes as we have come home at night and we kill them and then it is fine.  A couple of weeks ago I went to bed with a little bit of a headache and woke up at about 2 in the morning and at like 2:30 I finally decided to get up and take medicine because I couldn’t go back to sleep.  As I turn on the light to the kitchen I see like a million of the little creepy crawlies on our counters and on our newly cleaned dishes that I had cleaned the night before as I went to bed.  It was an experience and needless to say we called the office early the next morning for them to send someone to come and spray our house.  Well the Hermano came Saturday morning and our apartment has been perfect and clean and cockroach free.  Ok well we having been having a lot of dead ones but it has been so great.  Hermana Edwards and I are so grateful.

Well also remember how I said in hair as well?  We found out on Saturday that Hermana Edwards has lice.  So we immediately went and bought things for her to use for her head to help her out.  So needless to say, Saturday "we took care of all of the bugs.  ALL of the bugs" as Hermana Edwards and I have been saying.

The week ended yesterday with a huge fight on the bus as we were going to lunch yesterday with two primary girls in our ward.  They started to pull each other’s hair and so we had to separate them and then one of them started to say bad words.  It was a very full bus too and of course we got on the bus together and we have our tags on so everybody saw what church we were from.  I am just sick to think that that whole bus now has that image of our church.  It was a different week but that’s ok it will be a better this week.

I know that this church is true that we have a loving Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ who love us each individually more than we can imagine.  Love and miss everyone a lot!!!

I LOVE General Conference!!!

Hola!!!
This week was super great!!  We found another family that we are going to start teaching this week!!  It was crazy!!  We just started to talk to this little girl and her mom came out and so we started to talk to her mom, and then the mom’s sisters showed up because they all live together.  It was super great!!  It was meant to be!!  The sister’s boyfriend is a member of the church and she was over at his house the other day while the elders were visiting this member family that is in their ward.  So they were talking and they thought that she was super great!!  They knew she lived in our area but didn’t know where.  Well we found her!!!  It’s a miracle!!  It’s meant to be!!  We are super excited to teach this family, they are going to be so great!!!

Other than that was just conference!!  I LOVE general conference!!  I can’t believe that another on has gone by!!  I didn’t understand everything that was said but I felt the spirit and it was super great!!  The first session we were able to watch with our bishop in his house with his family!!  It was super fun!!  The other three sessions we watched in a church house in our stake!!  It was a different experience watching everyone come with their lunch and hang out at the church house in between sessions!!  I am super grateful for the many blessings we enjoy in the United States!!  The last session an investigator of ours named Victoria was able to come!!  She is super great and we are praying that she will be baptized the end of this month!!
I am learning a lot from Hermana Edwards!  How to teach better, Spanish, lots of things!!  She is called a Sister Training leader.  She is equal to a zone leader but for the sisters.  So this week we are going to have divisions twice with two companionships which means that she is going to leave me two times this week to go to another area where there are sisters in our zone.  The two sisters that will be with me are both very new.  So I will be training them for 1 day!!  I am super excited to help train them both for 1 day!!  I am a little nervous for the language I will probably have to do all of the talking.  I don’t know how much Spanish they know.  But I am excited to experience training someone even if it is only for two days

I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend!!  What better way than to have it than over General Conference listening to our Prophet and Apostles!!  I am so grateful for them in my life!!  They are such great examples to us!! I know that Pres Thomas S. Monson is our living prophet of today!!  I know that he is called by our Heavenly Father as well as our apostles.  I know that this church is true!!  I know that our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ love us and always are with us!!  I know that the Book of Mormon is true!!  I LOVE and miss you lots and lots and lots and lots!!!

Wednesday of Miracles

Hola!!!
This week was filled with miracles!!  Divisions started this week!!  We will be having divisions every Tuesday and Wednesday from now until the transfer ends due to Hermana Edwards being the sister training leader for our zone!!  She is super great!!

So this week I was with a sister named Hermana Tidwell!!  She was super great!!  It was fun to spend about 24 hours with her!!  And then Wednesday!!  Wow!!  Words cannot describe Wednesday!!  Wednesday Hermana Edwards and I didn’t have a ton of time to work because we had to end divisions so we started really working around 4:00 pm.  In the morning before we had lunch Hermana Tidwell and I contacted a referral we had received and at lunch the great grandson of the sister we had lunch with told us that he wanted to be baptized so we are going to start teaching him!!!  We are super excited!!  At this point in the day, on Wednesday I thought "Wow, how much better can today get?"  Well it did!!   It was a day of miracles!!  So like I said Hermana Edwards and I started to really work at about 4:00.  We found 8 new investigators this day!!  In one day we found 8 new investigators!!  It was a miracle!!
And we ended up contacting a house that was written in our area book!!  We went to this house and we weren’t able to teach them because the kids were doing homework but, it was a FAMILY!!!!  And not just a family, but a family who the parents are MARRIED!!!  We talked to the dad and he seemed super receptive and willing to talk to us!!  We are really praying for them that we can teach them this week and that they will be able to come to General Conference with us this weekend!!

Hermana Edwards and I are so excited for General Conference!!  I am so excited listen to our Prophet and his counselors and the apostles!!  I can’t wait!!  I can’t wait to experience general conference in the field!!   I experienced it in the MTC but I am sure that it will just be even better in the field with an investigator sitting with me this time!!  Have I mentioned that I can’t wait?!
I know that Pres Monson is the prophet of today called by our Heavenly Father.  I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live and love us!!  I now that this church is true and that the Book of Mormon is true!!  I LOVE the Book of Mormon!!

Love and miss you all lots and lots and lots and lots!!!

Winter is Coming...

Hola!!!

Well this week was filled with few things!!  We found a great mom and her 4 kids!!  Her name is Jessica!!  She and her husband are separated.  I am so excited to start teaching them!!  She will be so great!!  Also we had a special training this week that was super good!!  We talked about a lot of things!!  The things that hit me the most was family history and baptism.  Family history!  We talked about this Spirit of Elijah and how people love learning and talking about their families.  My goal is to start more conversations based off of the family and establish that common ground that we have with everyone. We also talked about baptism and how that needs to always be our goal.  If it is always our goal and we are always thinking about it, we can accomplish it.  With these two things now as my goals I am excited to see miracles.

We also had Stake Conference yesterday.  Our stake president talked about the Book of Mormon and how key it is and how we should always be reading it.  My goal now from this is to teach more principles of the gospel directly from the Book of Mormon.  I am so excited to see the miracles that are in store for Hermana Edwards and I this transfer and for this area.

Oh my gosh!!!!!  The last couple days I have been in tights and sweater jacket thing!!!!  It has been cold.  Well ok probably not cold but I have also had two summers back-to-back now so to me it is cold!!!!!  I will be buying my winter boots, hat, scarf and gloves next week.  I love my under armor!  They have been my pajamas for the last couple of nights!!!  HOOORRRAAAYYYYY!!!!  I can’t believe I have made it through my first summer!!  I all but died but I made it!!!!!  Somehow I made it and survived the heat!!!!!

I know that this church is true.  I know that our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ live and love us more than we can imagine and that through them we can overcome every hardship that occurs in our lives!!  I know that the Book of Mormon is true and was translated by the prophet of this dispensation Joseph Smith.  I know that Pres. Thomas S. Monson is our prophet today and how blessed we are to be able hear from him in two weeks!!  I can’t wait!!  Love and miss you all lots and lots and lots and lots!!

Transfers! First Baptism!!!

Wow this week was filled!!!  First we had transfers on Wednesday!!  My new companion is Hermana Edwards!!  She is from the Kaysville 14th ward!!  But do you remember the lady that sent me a Facebook message and said that her daughter was serving in my same mission.  That was her mom.  Crazy right!!!!!!!  She has 13 months in her mission!!  We were actually in the same zone when I was in Caseros so we knew each other before we were companions!!  I am so excited to work with her!!  She is so great!!  She is so nice!!  I LOVE that she is obedient, she is willing to work, she is our sister training leader so obviously the Lord has lots of confidence in her, so much more!!!   She is so great!!  I am so excited to work with her and to start this new transfer.  We are going to see miracles together.  I just know it!!!!  This companionship is going to be so great!!!!!  I am so excited to be companions with her.

Also little Maria was baptized on Saturday!!  It was crazy!!  We started like 40 or 45 min late because her uncle who baptized her was running late and kids were running all over the church but I felt the spirit so strong!!!  I am happy for her!!
This transfer already has started off so great!!  I am excited to my companion and we had a baptism the first week!!  It can only get better from here!  I am so excited for this transfer and to see what miracles are in store for us!!

I know that this church is true without doubt!!  I LOVE the Book of Mormon and know that it is true!!  I know that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live and love us more than we can imagine!! Love and miss everyone lots and lots and lots!!!
