My Fourth Area!

Hola!

Wow this week was a great week!!!  We had lots going on!!  We had transfers!!!  I am now in my 4th area, Haedo!!!  It is crazy how time is flying!!  My new companion is Hermana Dayes!!  She is from Arizona!!  She will complete 6 months this month in September!!!  I am still getting to know this new area but so far I love it!!  We have great leaders!!  I am so excited to see what blessings are in store for Hermana Dayes and I this transfer.  I am so excited to find out what is in store for me to learn from Hermana Dayes and this area!!

This week other than transfers nothing has really happened!!  Monday and Tuesday were filled with goodbyes which were not easy.  Wednesday was filled with nerves and nerves and nerves and nerves!!!!  Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday were filled with learning this new area and getting to know the new leaders that I will now be working with.  Saturday night we had a ward activity that was filled with lots and lots of games and fun!!  It was really great to get to know the ward because yesterday we had an area conference.  A lot of the speakers talked about keeping the Sabbath Day holy.  I have learned in my mission how important this is!!!  There is such a spirit in keeping the Sabbath Day holy.  When we keep this commandment we are blessed more than we can imagine!!!

I am glad you guys saw Hermana Edwards!!!  Where are pics of you guys with her!!!  I am SO sad that you don’t have the package yet!!!!!!!!!!!!  She is great!!!!!  She gave me a necklace and some earrings before she left.  I don’t have her email address.  Can you tell her thank you from me!!!???

It has been BEAUTIFUL this week!!!  It hasn’t ever gotten super cold.  Everybody has told me that it usually is A LOT colder.  Which means, and I am nervous that this spring and summer are going to be HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I will be here for all of summer.  Summer ends March 24th!

I LOVE this gospel and know that it is true!!!  Love and miss you all lots and lots and lots and lots!!!!!

Oh The Places I'll Go in Argentina!!

Well last night was the night we received the call that would tell us if we will be having changes or not.  Turns out my time here in Hurlingham is finishing and I am on to my 4th area to learn what I need to learn there and to learn what I need to learn from my next companion.  I have LOVED Hurlingham!!  I am so grateful for my time here and for everything I have learned in this area and the things I have learned from Hermana Hale and Hermana Chineppe while here in Hurlingham.

Today I complete 11 months!!  The time has gone by so fast.  I LOVE being a missionary.  It has been the best 11 months of my life.  There have been ups and downs and twists and turns but I have changed so much and learned so much.  This week we had trainings.  One of the trainings we had was about using the Book of Mormon.  I LOVE the Book of Mormon.  I know that it is true.  I know that if we read it we can become more like our Savior Jesus Christ.  I know that is the keystone to our religion.  I know that it was translated by the prophet Joseph Smith.  I know that it is true.  I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet called by our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ to restore this gospel here upon the earth today.

I LOVE this gospel and I know that it is true.  I know that our prophet today is Thomas S. Monson.  I know that our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ live.  I know that they love us each individually.  I know that they love us way more than we can imagine.  I know that when we obey the commandments and the covenants we have made with them they are able to pour blessings upon us.  I know that this gospel is true.  I LOVE this gospel.  I LOVE this gospel and I LOVE this gospel.   I cannot imagine my life without this gospel.   I am so grateful for my time as a missionary to be able to serve our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ.

I love and miss you all lots and lots and lots and lots!!!!!

Con mucho amor,

Hermana Kent

P.S.  My camera is struggling.  I have tons of pictures to send to you as soon as I can get the internet down here to cooperate with me:(

Birthday Surprises!

Well this week was such a great week!!!!  I got to go back to Caseros for a day!!!  We had divisions this week with the sisters who work there and well off I went to Caseros!!  It was such a humbling experience to be back there after 10 months and reflect on the progress I have made these 10 months reguarding the language, my teaching abililty, and as a person!!  I have changed so much since I was first there.

This week we had a miracle!!!  We went to visit a family who is less active and when we went we found a family who also is less active who are wanting to start coming to church again.  The wife has a little sister living with them that is not a member but wants to follow the example of our Savior Jesus Christ.  I LOVE being a missionary and seeing miracles like this everyday!!

We also have an investigator that we are working with that came to church on Sunday.  He is progressing and we continue to pray for him.

Ummmmm how did you get a birthday package here?????????  I don't have any pictures yet because I haven't opened it and I was out voted to open it the other night and so my companion and roommates all hid it from me until Friday!  Ugggghhhhhhh between you two and Hermana Chineppee there are WAY too many surprises!!!!!!!  I cant handle it!!!  I am my mother's daughter!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you EVERYONE for the birthday wishes!!!  There were so many that I did not get to respond to you all, but I am so grateful for all the love and support that you show me.

I know this church is true.  I know that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live and love us very much!!  I know that they know what is happening in our lives and that we can pray and ask for help from them to keep moving from day to day.  I LOVE this gospel!!  I LOVE and miss everyone very much!!

Thank you EVERYONE for the birthday wishes!!!  There were so many that I did not get to respond to you all, but I am so grateful for all the love and support that you show me.

My Joy Is Indescribable!!!

Wow!!

This week was filled with emotions!!!  Our Querido Amigo got baptized on Saturday and was confirmed a member the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!!!  It was such a neat experience!!  There aren’t words to describe my joy for our Querido Amigo!!  Hermana Chineppe and I visited him a lot this week and he truly was prepared to enter the waters of baptism Saturday night.  Hermana Chineppe and I got to sing “When I am Baptized” at the baptism for him.  We sang the first verse in English and sang again the first verse and the second verse in Spanish.  It was such a neat experience.  My joy is indescribable to have been able to help this friend come unto Christ.  I am so grateful for this experience that Hermana Chineppe and I shared together.  The most spiritual part was right after he was confirmed yesterday he came back to sit with Hermana Chineppe and I and as soon as he sat down he turned to us and said, "Muchas Gracias Hermanas!"  I was stunned!!  I was so joyful with this response.
Tell little Samantha to put a sticker on!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tell her that this sticker is Hermana Kent’s favorite convert so this sticker means a lot!!!!!!!!!  (We have a chart for Hermana Kent that keeps track of her days serving and events that take place.  Samantha is our little neighbor who just loves to look at the chart every time she is over).

I know that this church is true!!  I know that our Savior Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father live and love each and every one of us.  I know that they know us individually.  I LOVE this gospel.  I LOVE this opportunity I have to be a missionary.  I love and miss you all lots and lots and lots!!!!

How Great Shall Be Your Joy!

Hola!

This week was such a sacred week again.  We worked a lot with our investigator “M” who is getting baptized this week.  Hermana Chineppe and I are so beyond excited for him.  He is so great and prepared.  There is a story that I have been told that there were two men in heaven.  They both received white envelopes with "mission calls" to come to earth.  In one of them it said that the person would be born in the church and into a loving family and other blessings.  In the envelope of his friend it said that he would not have the blessing of the gospel in his life.  His friend who would be born in the gospel said to "don’t worry my friend, I will find you and I will teach you the gospel."  Hermana Chineppe and I have felt very strongly for a couple of weeks now that “M” was a dear friend of ours before we all came here and that we told him we would find him.  There are no words even close to describe my joy.  It’s not even happiness, it’s JOY!!!

I LOVE being a missionary.  I LOVE this gospel.  I LOVE that I get to share this great blessing with others.  I know that this gospel is true!!!  I know that our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ live.  I love and miss you all lots and lots and lots!!!!!!

Con mucho amor,

Hermana Kent
This is what we look like when our hearts are full of JOY!

Staying Together!

Well this week was super great!!!!  It was filled with amazing things!!!!!!  First thing was on Thursday!!!  Thursday was Argentina’s Independence Day.  Our ward had an activity to celebrate it.  We had an investigator come with us!!  It was so great!!  We ended up leaving the activity before he did.  He was very well welcomed into the ward.  This investigator will be getting baptized on the 25th of the month!!!  Hermana Chineppe and I are so excited for him.

Friday and Saturday we did divisions!!  I was able to do divisions with Hermana Tidwell!!  I have done divisions with her before.  She is so great!!!  It was so fun to be able to work with her for a couple days and learn from her how to be a better teacher, missionary, and better person!!!
Yesterday in church we had 3 investigators come at 9:00!!  It was so great!!  It was great knowing that Hermana Chineppe and I had 3 investigators sitting in Elders Quorum while we were sitting Relief Society!!  It was such an amazing feeling!!!

Hermana Chineppe and I are staying together!!!!  BEST phone call EVER last night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I was SICK to my stomach yesterday!!!!!!!  And I was so nervous to be changed before M… gets baptized.  I would have DIED!!!!!!!!!!
I am so grateful for my calling right now as a missionary.  I LOVE this gospel.  I know that it is true!!  I know that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ LIVE!!  I know that they love us more than we can comprehend!!  I know that the Book of Mormon is true!!  This week as I was studying Alma 34: 32-33 really spoke to me.

32 For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors.
33 And now, as I said unto you before, as ye have had so many witnesses, therefore, I beseech of you that ye do not procrastinate the day of your repentance until the end; for after this day of life, which is given us to prepare for eternity, behold, if we do not improve our time while in this life, then cometh the night of darkness wherein there can be no labor performed.

I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet!!  I know that Pres. Thomas S. Monson is our prophet today!!  I love and miss you all!!!!
Con mucho amor,

Hermana Kent

A Sacred Week

Hola!

This week has probably been the most sacred week in my whole mission!!!!!!  Hermana Chineppe and I found 10 new investigators this week!! 10!!!!!  We were so blessed this week!!  They are all great people and I am so excited to work with them!!!

We had such an incredible lesson with one of our investigators this week!! We were teaching him about the 10 commandments.  We taught him the first two commandments and Hermana Chineppe asked him “why should we follow these commandments?”  He immediately responded and said, “Well because they are commandments.”  I LOVED the response that he gave us that simply because they are commandments.  I was so happy by his response.  He is truly prepared!!!  He will be baptized the 25h of this month!!  Hermana Chineppe and I are so excited for this investigator that we are working with!!  There are not words to describe how excited I am for him!!!!  I am just literally BURSTING with joy for him!!!

I know that this gospel is true!!  I LOVED this gospel!!  I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live and love us very much!!!  I love and miss you all!!!

Con amor,

Hermana Kent

A Note from Hermana Kent's mom:

Hermana Kent is suffering from an infection in her foot right now.  We invite you to include her in your prayers that she may heal quickly.  This has been very disheartening to her as it is interfering with the work that she is so excited  to be doing.  Thanks for all your love and prayers on her behalf.

Happy Fourth of July!
